Per la gioia di tutti i sorcini (e non) ecco arrivare la prima versione in sviluppo di Parole Media Player 0.6 (numero di versione 0.5.90). Vediamo quali sono le novità di questa nuova versione di Parole.
La novità principali sono: completato il porting dell'interfaccia nelle GTK+ 3, miglioramenti nel supporto a GStreamer 1.0, fix vari.
Per i più curiosi ecco il changelog completo:

    • Use an inline-toolbar for a more streamlined experience
    • Removed the redundant Settings button
    • Added Move Up/Down buttons to make reorganizing the playlist easier
  • Added Previous/Next track actions to the Tray and Notification plugins

    • Updated artwork (background image, icons)
    • Fixed GStreamer 1.0 support
    • Added ability to play DVD ISO files form the Open Dialog
    • Improved plugin failure detection so users know something has gone wrong

Gli utenti Ubuntu intenzionati a provare Parole 0.5.90 e a seguirne gli sviluppo possono farlo grazie al PPA dedicato contenente le versioni daily. Vista la natura del PPA è bene precisare che ci potrebbero essere problemini di tanto in tanto nel programma.
Per aggiungere il PPA Xfce 4.12 Daily Development Packages di Sean Devis (compatibile per ora con Raring e Saucy) vi basterà seguire queste semplici istruzioni.
Aprite il terminale e digitate:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:smd-seandavis/xfce-4.12-daily

Aggiornate il sistema

sudo apt-get update

ed infine installate Parole Media Player 0.5.90 (Parole 0.6) con

sudo apt-get install parole


+Nicolò Onorata ci segnala che Parole 0.5.90 è stato aggiunto al PPA Xfce 4.12 packages di cui vi avevo parlato nella mia precedente guida post installazione per Xubuntu 13.10
Se siete dunque utenti Xubuntu e avete seguito la mia guida troverete Parole fra gli aggiornamenti di sistema. Ma cosa ancora più importante è che il PPA Xfce 4.12 packages è compatibile anche con Precise e Quantal :)
